Rustic Coat
Rustic coats can be highly similar to Curly/Wavy coats. This hair ranges from soft waves to tight curls. The types of curls your dog has can vary within individual dog breeds, and is highly genetic dependent. Grooming should be uniquely tailored toward each dog. This coat type isn't considered a "shedding breed" however, it still requires special attention.

Recommended Grooming Practices
To Shave or To Not
This coat can be shaved or hand scissored. This coat is highly prone to matting, which means brushing should be happening daily.
Once this hair is shaved it changes:

Dull hair

Loss of colour
-
Increase in tangles
-
Likelihood of mats developing is more likely
Brushing
Brushing should be completed at least 2-3 times per week at the bare minimum. Using our Leave In Conditioner Spray while brushing will reduce breakage and static.
Bathing
This coat type isn't considered a "shedding breed" however, it still requires special attention. More bushing and bathing is required during the winter or after swimming.

Using conditioner will keep the wavy/curl in their coat.
Frequency
3-4 weeks for the best results
6-8 weeks for regular grooming
9-12 weeks for minimum maintenance
