Hairless
Hairless dogs represent a distinct and important coat type. While they don’t have fur, they still need consistent grooming to keep their skin healthy. Without the natural protection of a coat, their skin is more exposed to the elements. As a result, hairless breeds require extra care—such as sunscreen for sun protection and jackets to keep warm during colder months.

Recommended Grooming Practices
No Shaving Required
Some hairless dogs will have small tuffs of hair, these should be hand scissored and not shaved with clippers.
Brushing
Since they have no hair, or minimal amounts there is no brushing required. However, with lack of fur comes greater sun exposure, hairless dogs need all the moisture they can get. This means purchasing moisturizer to keep dry skin from happening. In the winter, sweaters are highly recommended.
Bathing
Just because hairless dogs have no coats does not mean they are always clean, so keeping a bath schedule can come in handy when you can’t feel the fur for dirt. Think about our skin, we feel the build up of dirt and grim just like our pets.
